About the college
A glimmer of hope for northern KwaZulu-Natal
Mthashana TVET College is a public Technical and Vocational Education and Training institution serving the Northern Region of KwaZulu-Natal, across the Zululand, uMkhanyakude and uMzinyathi District Municipalities. With eight campuses spread across largely rural and under-developed communities, the college has positioned itself as more than an institution — a route into employment, entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency for the young people it serves.
Mthashana offers National Certificate (Vocational) — NCV — and NATED (Report 191) N1–N6 programmes across Engineering, Business Studies, Agriculture, Hospitality, Information Technology and Community Development, and partners with SETAs, companies and government bodies to place students in stipend-supported work experience.
Good to know
Students who complete an N6 NATED qualification can apply for an 18-month internship, arranged through the college's industry and SETA partnerships, to gain the work experience needed to complete a National Diploma.
